Summer’s heat has produced a lot of heat on the election trail this summer. August is another big election event in Newport and Cocke County, three elections in one, the Cocke County General election and the State Republican and Democratic primaries. Election Day will be August 5th. Early voting will run from July 16th to the 31st.
WLIK has been “the source” everyone turns to on election night to know the winner, the losers, and the thoughts of the candidates. WLIK will begin coverage at 7:00pm August 5th. Join Rick Brooks, Michael McCarter and Craig Wild for the returns and commentary. WLIK’s election staff and members of the Cocke County High School Beta Club will be at each precinct to get the returns as soon as the polls close.
